Looking Due North at Litha
(Footpath to the Fen wherein I celebrate my Litha ritual. The Pole Star was above the tree at the time)

Spiritual significance of Litha

Litha is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. The God-force is at its peak, and it is a time to utilize that energy in self-development. It is a time to prune away those things which hinder self-development.

Even as a rosebush responds with more flower following pruning, so do we.

It is also a time for contemplation of the cycle of the year, for as the God-force is at its strongest, we begin to move towards lengthening nights, and the harvest festivals of Lughnasadh, Mabon and Samhain.
