Looking Due North at Litha |
Spiritual significance of Litha Litha is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. The God-force is at its peak, and it is a time to utilize that energy in self-development. It is a time to prune away those things which hinder self-development. Even as a rosebush responds with more flower following pruning, so do we. It is also a time for contemplation of the cycle of the year, for as the God-force is at its strongest, we begin to move towards lengthening nights, and the harvest festivals of Lughnasadh, Mabon and Samhain. |
