At Yule we celebrate the re-birth of the God, borne of the Goddess. It is the re-birth of the light, the days will start to get longer once more, and the first seeds of new life will stir.

The God is young yet, still an infant, but as with all infants, bears the promise of what is to come.

There are several festivals which have been celebrated at this time of year, not least is Saturnalia, at which time the Romans customarily exchanged gifts, even as we do.
